Metropolitan Region |
The mission of the Metropolitan Region of the Minnesota Senior Federation is to empower seniors in the greater Twin-Cities Region, by building a strong broad- based organization of older persons who act to promote our values of dignity, unity, quality and satisfaction of life through working together on issues and programs. As the pre-eminent consumer/member-driven activist organization of persons 50 plus in the Metro Area, the Minnesota Senior Federation works together to advance social issues and concerns jointly shared by senior membership. · We address local, state and national issues that meet the greatest community good and will have the greatest impact on those most in need. · We provide consumer education for the entire community and program benefits that enhance the quality of life to MnSF members. Founded in 1973, Minnesota Senior Federation—Metropolitan Region is the oldest and largest of eight statewide federations across Minnesota, and presently represents more than 15,000 individual members, more than 110 affiliated senior groups, and four community chapters in the Twin Cities. The Minnesota Senior Federation – Metropolitan Region is non-profit and non-partisan and a tax exempt 501-C- 3 organization. The Metro Region is lead by an all-volunteer Board of Directors composed of thirty- two retirees. Besides the Executives Committee, and Chairs of Metro major committees, the Board has ten Area Vice-Presidents that represent both geographic areas of the Twin Cities as well as liaisons to retired labor and corporate retiree groups. |
