The Senior Federation, in partnership with Consumers Union and the Minnesota Medical Association, is undertaking an ambitious effort to get free, unbiased information on effectiveness, safety and cost of prescription drugs into hands of consumers concerned about spiraling drug costs.
Northwest transit forum is July 21
Transportation for seniors -- one of the keys for independence -- will be the topic of a community forum on current needs and future plans.

Health Plan Information Center offers much more than Part D information
The Senior Federation's Health Plan Information Center offers information about Medicare Part A, B and D as well as Medicare supplement and Advantage plans offered by private companies.  The Center also helps people determine if they may be eligible for Medical Assistance (Medicaid) or other health care programs for low-income people.
Testimony before congressional staff finds Medicare Part D needs fixing
MnSF members were among those who testified at a hearing at the Minnesota Capitol on May 31 regarding initial implementation of Medicare Part D.

The Senior Federation's faithful contingent of volunteer counselors in the Information Center served contacts from individuals, couples and families, professionals and agencies regarding Medicare beneficiaries with an average age of 71.

MnSF Members named to metro area affordable housing anti-racism team
Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing (MICAH) is a partner organization of the Minnesota Senior Federation and recently spearheaded an Anti-racism Team. MnSF affordable housing committee member and housing VISTA Jackie Stewart and committee member Shirley Kulevsky were among those named to the team.
Mn Valley, Midwest and Southwest regions gather for 3rd annual combined convention
The 3rd Annual combined Convention for Minnesota Valley, Midwest and Southwest regions was May 15 at the American Legion in Spicer.
