The time for finger pointing is past - we need property tax reform now
One of Blueprint’s key elements is to keep seniors in their homes for as long as they wish to be there.  Sadly, however, the rapid increase in property taxes over the last five years makes this objective more and more difficult for seniors.
Private fee-for-service plans being dropped by some medical providers
Effective April 1, 2008, Park Nicollet Clinic and Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital will no longer accept Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service plans. They join the HealthPartners metropolitan area clinics, who have declined to accept Medicare Private Fee-for-Service insurance all along.
Most Part D premiums and/or co-pays going up
Many people may be able to save money by changing Medicare Part D plans this year.
New New edition of Health Care Choices for Minnesota Seniors now available
Health Care Choices contains all of the Medicare supplemental and HMO options available on the open market in Minnesota.  This edition contains much information that is helpful for all Minnesotans, plus the publication will be more widely distributed this year in greater Minnesota. 
Grandparents can make a difference for kids this season
Holiday season is almost here, and we are still hearing reports about new toy hazards almost every day.  That is why the Minnesota Senior Federation has joined Consumers Union in launching the “Twelve Days of Safe Shopping” campaign.
Federation is drop site for Gifts for Seniors
Gifts for Seniors collects donated gifts to distribute to the most isolated senior citizens who reside within the 12 Minnesota metropolitan counties.  Donations are 100 percent tax deductible

Public, legislators invited to December forum on Medicare
On Saturday, Dec. 1, the 9 a.m.-noon event will offer seniors and others concerned about Medicare changes an occasion to listen, learn and ask the experts.  A bus will leave the MnSF St. Paul office at 7:45 a.m. and from House of Prayer in Richfield at 8:00 a.m. Dec. 1 to transport members to the event.
Mankato holiday event brings legislators and seniors together
Members of the Minnesota Senior Federation in the Mankato area will host a Holiday Social and Legislative Preview Monday, Dec. 10, 10:30 a.m., at Summit Center in Mankato.
