  • RX Drug Cost Help, Including Medicare Part D

    Help with prescription drug costs has been a long-standing concern of Minnesota Seniors and younger uninsured people.  This section will help you understand the many options available to save dollars on your prescription drug costs, whether or not you are eligible for the Medicare Part D prescription drug programs.  It also will give you information to make the wisest decisions for yourself and your family members. For a complete explanation of how Part D works and a list of plans available in Minnesota, see Health Care Choices for Minnesota Seniors.

  • Health Care Choices for Minnesotans on Medicare

    This guide, published annually since 1995, is designed to help Minnesota seniors navigate through many available options and programs, particularly when choosing a Medicare supplement or HMO plan.

    Our 2009 edition contains an invaluable guide to help in choosing a MedicarePart D prescription drug plan. Health Care Choices also provides statewide information and resources about low and modest-income programs, and programs for people under age 65 without Medicare.

  • Health Plan Information Center
    The Health Plan Information Center is a major source of accurate information on the new Medicare Part D prescription drug plan as well as other health care options and programs available to Minnesota seniors.

    The Center comprises three components, each of which supports and aids the success of the others:  1) Peer-to-peer phone counseling;  2) Proactive outreach;  3) The annual “Health Care Choices” publication.

  • Legal Referral
    Minnesota Senior Federation legal referral program provide s qualified attorneys who work for members at reduced rates
  • Pension Rights Project
    The Upper Midwest Pension Rights Project (UMPRP), funded primarily through the U.S. Administration on Aging, provides no cost pension education, counseling, and claims assistance to individuals or groups with pension concerns. The project  is a joint effort of the Minnesota Senior Federation, the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups Elder Law Center, and Iowa Legal aid. The Minnesota office of the project serves residents of Minnesota and North and South Dakota.
  • Retirement Planning Seminars
    For more than 20 years the Minnesota Senior Federation has been offering unbiased Retirement Planning Seminars to companies in the Twin Cities area.  We work with Human Resources and Benefits Administrators to customize an educational series to help their employees prepare for retirement.

    This section includes lists of caregiver options and resources in Minnesota, including assisted living, adult day service centers, health care at home, hospice, block nurse programs, support organizations.



     

  • Senior Partners Care
    The Minnesota Senior Federation operates the Senior Partners Care program throughout the State as a benefit to people who are in need of assistance with medical care costs.  To qualify for the Senior Partners Care (SPC) program, individuals must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, meet minimum asset requirements, and must be enrolled in Medicare parts A and B.
