MnSF believes that every senior should have access to affordable housing.  Part of MnSF’s continual work is in fighting on behalf of the more than 15,000 seniors living in federally assisted rental units in Minnesota---a majority of whom are on fixed incomes, and almost all receive only social security payments with which they must pay for housing, food, clothing and healthcare.

Modest cost of living increases each year do not begin to keep up with the actual increase in housing costs in market rate apartments, and we are fighting for more affordable housing funding at both the federal and state level. We also serve as a resource center for tenants who need direct service and help on issues ranging from repair problems to conflict resolution with management.  If you are interested in housing issues, I encourage you to get involved in our work. Visit the MnSF calender, which includes committee information, and join us at our next meeting.
