What will happen to Senior Partners Care?

Volunteers of America/Minnesota has taken on the administratino of the Senior Partners Care program. JoAnne Flacksbarth will continue with the program to help with the transition.

Will Health Care Choices for Minnesotans on Medicare continue to be available?

The annual guide to Medicare supplement options and the whole array of options for getting health care, Health Care Choices for Minnesotans on Medicare,  has been an important resource not only to the senior community but also to professionals who help seniors navigate the health care maze. The Minnesota Board on Aging has committed to taking over publication of this guide. Karin Patrick is now working to assure a successful  transfer to the Minnesota Board on Aging of the extensive data files needed to prepare this publication.

Where can I find Retirement Planning Seminars now?

Will the Spring Raffle drawing take place?

What will happen with the SeniorRxCare prescription drug program?

The pharmacies that form SeniorRxCare have agreed to continue to service Minnesota Senior Federation members at the Minnesota Senior Federation discount prices even after the dissolution of the Federation. You should contact SeniorRxCare directly for forms signing up for the program or submitting new prescriptions and for refills. Their phone number is 877-828-7555.

Will I be able to continue my HealthPartners/Minnesota Senior Federation dental insurance?

If you are enrolled in the HealthPartners/Minnesota Senior Federation dental insurance program, your insurance will continue. If and when the Minnesota Senior Federation is dissolved, you will no longer be eligible for the 10% Minnesota Senior Federation group discount on the premium but will have the option to continue the insurance at the regular HealthPartners rates. You can expect to hear from HealthPartners when any change takes place. Further questions about the HealthPartners/Minnesota Senior Federation dental insurance plan should be addressed to HealthPartners at 877-838-4949.

Will the AAA membership and insurance discounts continue?

AAA has agreed to continue to accept new memberships and insurance from those currently Minnesota Senior Federation members through 2009 as part of the group discount program. Furthermore, those already receiving the Minnesota Senior Federation group discount with AAA will continue to receive the group rate if they maintain their membership in AAA and/or their AAA auto or homeowners insurance. Is the Upper Midwest Pension Rights Project still helping resolve pension questions?

The Upper Midwest Pension Rights Project will continue to operate under the auspices of the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging..The UMPRP continues to service its current clients and is accepting new clients. Final location of its offices is still being determined, but they can be contacted by calling 651/783-5021 or toll free 1-866-783-5021.
