1 - Control the cost of prescription drugs by: 

► Passing good Prescription Drug Importation Legislation      
- Support the provisions of the Dorgan-Snowe-Vitters Prescription Drug proposals and amendments in the Senate for a safer medication supply in the U.S. and save American’s up to 50% on brand name drugs. Oppose any “poison-pill” provisions that would prevent implementation of legislation.

► Allow the Government to negotiate drug prices for Medicare beneficiaries
-         Support the MENDS Act to allow for Government negotiated pricing.

2. - Stop additional Medicare cuts to physician reimbursement.

3. - Eliminate $10 billion give-away fund to pay new Regional and National health plans more than existing local non-profit health plans.

4. - Extend and support Medicare Cost Contracts; currently covering over 60,000 Minnesota seniors.

5. - Eliminate Government financial incentives to employers to weaken or eliminate retiree prescription drug insurance coverage.

“We all pay the same;  we should all receive the same through Medicare!”

6. - Adjust Medicare payments to Regions, so that beneficiaries receive the same Medicare benefits throughout the country.

7. - Broaden Medicare Coverage to meet the needs of seniors by:
            ► Covering basic Long-Term-Care and Chronic Care
            ► Pay for mental health services on a par with physical care
