Summary: Caregiver support groups offer a chance for caregivers to come together, share ideas and get emotional support from each other. These groups usually meet weekly or monthly and there is often some education about caregiving issues. Separate support groups are available for caregivers and individuals with memory loss.

Respite Care
Summary: Allows the caregiver to leave the home, relax, take care of personal needs and return refreshed. A respite volunteer comes to the home of the caregiver once a week for 2-4 hours. The volunteer is a companion to the older person who receives care. He/she may play cards, read to or just be a friend to the older person.
