All Federation members and our allies are asked to contact their Senators and Representatives to demand action now to control and lower prescription drug prices for all Americans through passage of good Prescription Drug Importation Legislation that will also increase the safety of the prescription drug supply in this country.
The Minnesota Senior Federation and our allies ask that you contact your Representative to support both H.R.338 and H.R.700 by becoming co-sponsors and signing the leadership letter on H. R. 328 that will put pressure on the House to take up the issue. 218 House members, a clear majority have signed a letter asking House Speaker Dennis Hassert to bring (H.R.338 and HR. 700) to a full House vote. In Minnesota Congressman John Kline (R-MN 6th District) and Congressman Mark Kennedy (R-MN 5th District) need to be contacted and urged to support the legislation. Senate Action Needed Now by:
Supporting the provisions of the Dorgan-Snowe-Vitters Prescription Drug proposals and amendments for a safer medication supply in the U.S. and save American’s up to 50% on brand name drugs. Senators also need to be urged to oppose any “poison-pill” provisions that would prevent implementation of legislation. In Minnesota, Senator Mark Dayton is a leading supported of good prescription drug importation while Senator Norm Coleman is currently is a supporter of the counterfeit drug importation bill (S.184) that was introduce by Senator Judd Gregg.. Senator Coleman has raised concerns about dug safety of the Dorgan-Snowe-Vitter legislation in spite its provisions that will greatly enhance the safety of the prescription drug supply in this country. Please call Senator Norm Coleman and urge him to 1) Support the provisions of the Dorgan-Snowe-Vitters Prescription Drug Importation legislation as it comes to Senate Floor and to become a co-sponsor of S.334. 2) Drop his co-sponsorship of the counterfeit drug importation legislation (S.184) and oppose and “poison pill” provisions that may be made to weaken the good importation legislation (Dorgan-Snowe-Vitters) |
