Transportation needs for seniors can be one of the keys for independence. A community forum on current transit needs and future plans for the Northwest community will be July 21, 9:30-11 a.m. at Brooklyn Park Community Center, 5600-85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park. Routes to be discussed include Bottineau Boulevard (Northwest Corridor), Country Road 81 primarily and local community transportation.

Key speakers will be: Barb Thoman, Transit for Livable Communities speaking on the Transit Initiative; Ron Block, Senior Community Services, speaking on Dial-a-Ride type services and Hennepin County-wide linkage; and Cindy Harper, Metro Transit, on near future transportation projects.
