Remember those whom others have forgotten with Gifts for Seniors program PDF Print E-mail

The Minnesota Senior Federation's St. Paul office will be an official collection site for the 13th annual Gifts for Seniors program, starting the week after Thanksgiving through the first week of January.

Gifts for Seniors provides donated and personally delivered holiday gifts to the most isolated senior citizens in the metro area. The gift program is promoted by its sponsor, KLBB Radio 1400/1470 AM, which partners with Hennepin County Human Services Department for this corporate and government partnership.

Registered agencies identify seniors in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, Washington and Wright counties for this program. The success of Gifts for Seniors grows every year because of the response from the metro community in donating gifts.

The Metro Area Agency on Aging and the Minnesota Senior Federation are supporters of Gifts for Seniors. The program collaborates with 44 community agencies, which identified more than 2,000 seniors who received a gift when they otherwise would have been forgotten.

Gifts for Seniors has received awards from the Minnesota Broadcasters Association and the National Association of Counties. We want you to get involved this year!

It's easy to donate - gifts, gift certificates, checks - it's your choice and it's 100 percent tax deductible. Get the Gifts for Seniors "wish list" and program details by listening to KLBB AM 1400/1470, visit www.giftsforseniors.org, or Kristine Poelzer at 612/348-5835 or .
