The Minnesota Senior Federation is looking for ordinary people to provide extraordinary service through AmericorpsVISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service. CNS is an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nation.
VISTA members will lead MnSF’s health education and outreach campaigns throughout the state of Minnesota. You must be available to serve full-time for one year and have your own transportation. For information about MnSF, visit www.mnseniors.org. For VISTA details and to apply, visit http://www.americorps.gov/.
The Federation is also seeking free or low-cost housing for the AmeriCorp members.
Will you provide free or reduced-cost housing for one year to dedicated people committed to improving people’s lives in your community?
While AmeriCorps members do receive a very modest living allowance, they face a shortage of affordable housing and are not allowed to work for pay outside the program. As part of the application process, members will have a criminal history background check.
