Reid Zimmerman assumed the interim director position for the MnSF-Metro Region on Jan. 2. His experience in the nonprofit community spans more than two decades and includes previous positions as executive director of the Family Resource Center in Chisago County and vice president of development at Hazelden Foundation. He has served on boards of several organizations including the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. Reid has owned and operated a consulting company that provided a wide range of services to nonprofits in Minnesota and throughout the United States and Canada including program evaluation, fundraising counsel, leadership development, strategic planning and assistance with organizational change. Zimmerman has just completed his doctorate in organizational development with a specialization in nonprofit effectiveness from Union Institute and University in Cincinnati. He also holds a master of divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul and two undergraduate degrees. Reid is a presenter and educator for the nonprofit community, teaching for a number of local universities and the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits on fundraising, program evaluation, grant writing and planning. His wife, Lori, is a principal in the North Branch School District. They live on part of her family's century dairy farm near Rush City with their three daughters, Ali, Megan and Hannah. They have spent the past ten years building their log home and enjoy BWCAW canoeing and a variety of outdoor activities. Reid says he is "looking forward to getting to know the organization and continuing the great work accomplished over the past three decades." We welcome Reid to our organization. |
