The Minnesota Senior Federation is the grateful recipient of the donation of a new server, several new computers and other equipment from Padilla Spear Beardsley for the computer network at its University Avenue offices. According to Tom McGrath, information systems manager, "The server we had was literally dying a slow and painful death. I was never sure when it would crash and very happy each time I was able to bring it back up." The new server "will give the Federation a more secure and capable network." "Staff will also notice an increase in speed and functionality," said Brian Bengtson, manager of IT services at PSB. Bengston, who coordinated acquisition of the hardware and managed its installation at the Federation, is also to be thanked for the donation of his time and expertise. "It is a significant gift to us," remarked Reid Zimmerman, interim director of Metro Region. Linda Zelig, manager of development commented on the corporate contribution. "Donations and sponsorships from the business community really help the Federation to accomplish its mission." "This contribution will allow the organization to remain current with the technology it needs to communicate internally and externally," noted McGrath. Both the staff and board extend thanks to Padilla Spear Beardsley for this generous donation. |
