Metro convention to highlight living fully outside the norm PDF Print E-mail

Spring cleaning, spring forward, spring fever - spring invites the return of many familiar traditions, including MnSF-Metro’s spring convention. This year’s gathering features a captivating keynote speaker as well as fresh, new topics featured in 12 breakout sessions and a host of exciting exhibits. The convention will take place Saturday, May 5, 8 am-4:30 p.m., at Earl Brown Center in Brooklyn Center. Speakers, exhibits and breakout sessions will complement this year’s theme, “To Life!! Fulfilling Your Vision for Health, Wealth and Happiness.”

Funny, incisive and persuasive best describe internationally renowned physician, Bowen F. White, M.D. Dr. White’s prescription for living fully is as easy to swallow as it is effective: laugh, misbehave, make mistakes and through it all discover your very own potential for health, healing and wholeness. As the featured speaker, White will also offer practical and amusing techniques for dealing with stress. Additionally, the world famous Dr. Jerko, will share the stage with White. Jerko is best known for his appearance with the Robin Williams’ movie character Patch Adams.

White travels the world combining the talents and expertise of a physician, speaker and author. He has appeared on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and on national television programs such as “CBS This Morning.” His programs and book, “Why Normal Isn’t Healthy,” emphasize the need for individuals young and old to take responsibility for their own health and well being.

This year’s breakout sessions feature three separate tracks highlighting topics of vital interest to mature Minnesotans and their families and friends. The four tracks include: Pre-Retirement; Life style; Health and Safety; and Issues Work of the Federation. Each track breaks out into three separate sessions related to the overall topic. Each hands-on session offers practical information and a solutions-oriented approach. The convention also includes a luncheon and convention business meeting.
