The University of Minnesota School of Public Health will screen the Frontline documentary, “Living Old” at the annual National Public Health Week Film Festival April 2. This PBS production focuses on end-of-life and chronic care and challenges families face in caring for elderly loved ones. As co-sponsor of the film festival, the Senior Federation encourages you to attend this event and will help coordinate car pools. We believe this topic will generate a lot of good conversation and would be of interest to our members and their children/relatives. To express interest as either a driver or passenger contact Linda Kirkendall at extension 651/783-5000. The film will be screened at Mayo Auditorium on the health campus (East Bank) of the U of M beginning at 5:30 p.m.. Every night of the festival is free and open to the public. For information, visit www.sph.umn.edu/filmfestevents.html. For background information on the film itself, see: www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/livingold/. Following the 60-minute film, a panel of elders from various cultures will provide perspectives on growing older. |
