Help with the mission of the Senior Federation - volunteer today PDF Print E-mail

Thank you to the 45 volunteers who helped with the raffle/convention mailing in March. They donated 174 hours of their time and effort. It was a flurry of activity and fun at the Minnesota Senior Federation office as nearly 11,500 pieces of mail were collated and prepared for the post office. We couldn’t have done it without your help - we so appreciate you!

We are always in need of volunteers to help carry out the work and mission of the Federation. In the next few months we will need volunteers in the following positions:

Health Plan Information counselors: This is a weekly commitment to counsel people over the phone and in person regarding health plans and other related health coverage plans. Training is provided.

Data entry assistant: This position is in the membership department. Volunteers will enter membership data into the database and keep the database updated. Commitment could be once or twice a week for two to threee hours. Training is provided.

Receptionist assistant: If you like customer service, greeting visitors, answering phones and processing mail, we are looking for you to help out at the front desk. Training is provided. This position offers a flexible work schedule.

State Fair volunteers: Once again the Federation will have a booth at the Minnesota State Fair. We need 90 volunteers to help staff the booth. Training is provided along with an admission ticket to the fair.

Mailing volunteers: Another mass mailing will be done this summer and the Federation needs 50 volunteers to accomplish the task. Additionally, volunteers are always needed for other smaller mailings done on an ongoing basis.

If you are interested in any of these positions, contact Lynn Moseng at 651/783-5018 or . We hope that you will consider joining the 200-plus volunteers who donate countless hours of time and talent to the work of the Federation.
