The Minnesota Senior Federation will strut a fresh look at its booth inside the Education Building of the Minnesota State Fair during its run, Aug. 23-Sept. 3. The look may be new, but the message is familiar: advocacy and action around issues that affect older adults.

“We want to engage the next generation of older Minnesotans while we remain connected to our members with trusted and valued information,” states Reid Zimmerman, interim executive director.

In addition to a newer image, the Federation has invited a variety of guests to speak on topics of interest to everyone, not just seniors. A peek at the schedule shows Jennifer Gray speaking about yoga, Lisa Moriarty on labyrinths, Linda Pruden on her recent book, “Reflections on a Changing Family: A Recipe Book of Life,” and former St. Paul mayor, George Latimer, on benefits of civic engagement. Social Security, Medicare Part D and financial planning, to name a few, round out the mix of relevant and informative subjects.

Look for a more complete schedule with dates, times, speakers and topics to be addressed at the Minnesota Senior Federation booth for each day of the fair on our website, www.mnseniors.org.

A trip for two to Laughlin, Nev., will be the “hook” to sign up new trial memberships but if you currently are a member you are eligible for the drawing, too. So be sure to stop by and say “hello,” sign up for the trip and pick up information about MnSF including the new annual report that will debut at the Fair.
