2010 summits explore how society needs to adapt to age wave
Our society is aging. This is not a temporary phenomenon, but rather a permanent one. In 2006, Transform 2010 set out to discover what needed to be done by individuals, communities, employers and government to prepare for this coming age wave.
The result is a regional summit to help individuals, communities, employers and policymakers prepare and take action for the coming age wave. It will address questions of preparedness in communities, businesses and organizations. It will consider what individuals and the state as a whole should do.
These 2-1/2 hour presentations will feature:
A presentation by Department of Human Services Assistant Commissioner Loren Colman
A three-member panel discussion featuring individuals from organizations already on top of the wave
Distribution of the Transform 2010 report, “A Blueprint for 2010: Preparing Minnesota for the Age Wave”
Practical suggestions of actions individuals, community leaders, employers and policymakers can implement
The summits are being held through October. Registration is free but seating is limited. To register, go to www.dhs.state.mn.us/2010 and click on “What’s new.” Individuals may also email Transform 2010 staff at .
The summits are sponsored by Minnesota Department of Human Services in partnership with Minnesota Board on Aging, Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Area Agencies on Aging.
