Driver safety courses could lower insurance rate PDF Print E-mail

Starting in February, the Federation will again offer monthly driver improvement courses at the St. Paul office, conducted by the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center. The courses, designed to keep you updated on the latest automobile technology, allow Minnesotans 55 and older to save up to 10 percent on car insurance. You must first take the initial eight-hour course and then, every four years, take the four-hour refresher course.

Course dates are:

  • Thursday, Feb. 14, 8 a.m.-noon, refresher
  • Tuesday, March 18, first four hours of first time course; Thursday, March 20,  second four hours; both 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 24, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., refresher
  • Thursday, May 22, 8 a.m.-noon, refresher

Reservations are required. Cost is $18 per person for the refresher course and $20 for the first time session. Call 888/234-1294 to register. Courses will be held at the Senior Federation office, 1885 University Ave. W, Suite 190, St. Paul.
